Our design concept was drawn up by ‘Artist in Residence’Georgina McDonald-Bell and Photography/3D Teacher Edward Cann, who are part of Norwich School’s Design Department.
Steering away from the more traditional route of painting our Gorilla we wanted to come up with a more creative way of representing Norwich School. The brief needed to allow for a multitude of people to be involved, whilst keeping the design consistent in style.
This contemporary approach enabled over 250 pupils to create symbols that they associated with their life and interests at Norwich School. Their illustrations were then scanned, vectorized and cut out of adhesive vinyl. These designs were then strategically placed onto our gorilla to create an intricate and inclusive design, uniform in style, whilst reflecting the collective individuality of the pupils at Norwich School.
